Entrepreneurs with a Vision
Ed Hays and Horst Jeddeloh started Jeddeloh-Hays Engineering with a couple of employees at a small office in Southeast Portland.
Bigger and Better
JHI moves to the office building on Macadam Avenue in Portland's South Waterfront, which would become JHI's home for the next 40 years.
Growth
Growing to over 30 employees, JHI continues to have close partnerships with clients in heavy industry throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Spokane Office Opens
To service the needs of clients in the Spokane area, JHI expands to a second location.
Kalama Office Opens
With recent cutbacks at nearby Longview Fibre, JHI hires several employees and opens a third location in Kalama, Washington.
New HQ Location
JHI moves its 50 Portland employees to a new headquarters building in Johns Landing with remodeling plans.
Return to Remodeled Space
After over two years of working from home during the pandemic, Oregon JHI employees return to their newly remodeled Portland headquarters.
Retirement
Founder, Edward Hays, retires on JHI's 47th anniversary passing his legacy to sons Jason and Kyle.
